For over more than 4 decades FIA India Day Parade is culminating every year on August month is observed as Indian Anniversary of Independence. It is considered to be the largest parade outside the India brings together over hundred-thousand members of the Diaspora for one of the biggest cultural extravaganzas in New York City.
This India Day Parade event marks the unique mix of togetherness of Indo-America where Indian immigrants residing in the USA come together with the visitors of different countries participating in the parade by holding aloft an Indian flag, and witness Indian culture, its identity and exchange social bonding with cultural understandings. The parade showcases an exuberance of pageantry displays, each meticulously crafted in accordance with its respective theme, serving as a representation of the prosperous culture and historical legacy of India. Bollywood celebrities, cricket greats, civic and community leaders, successful businesspeople, and eminent diasporan trend-setters have all historically participated in the procession and enhanced its magnificence. Prominent networks including ABC News, Channel 9, Timesnow, News 18, NDTV, Yupp TV, TV9, and TV Asia have covered the march LIVE, drawing in over 4 million people from 53 countries.

India's glorious cultural diversity is spectacularly displayed on the streets of New York as more than 50 groups of proud Indian-American citizens dance exuberantly to Indian tunes as they walk down Manhattan’s Madison Avenue adorned in vibrant traditional attires, exhibiting our motherland’s rich heritage. People are seen carrying placards and banners appreciating the Indian government's historic commitment towards sustainability while the streets are adorned in tricolour echoing with patriotic chants of “Jai Hind” and “Vande Mataram”

The India Day parade goes all out to celebrate the incredible flavors of Indian cuisine with more than 45 booths and food courts buzzing with excitement and flavor. People from all over the USA along with corporate brands from various industries, like banking, media, entertainment, fashion, and more, come together to showcase their incredible products and services. This year, the spotlight on promoting millet cultivation and consumption as they celebrate Millet Year 2023, through Indian milk-based booths which not only offer delicious ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat premixes, but also showcase the cultural and culinary richness of India.
FIA celebrates the flavor of Indian Culture in USA. One particular arena where Indian culture takes a prominent role is dance which is fantastic expression of free will, energy and emotion, and Indian dances are able to exude these characteristics wonderfully. There is also a great cultural background behind each dance; regional and linguistic differences make individual dances unique and a spectacle to be seen. A cultural program event is followed in the evening where separate section area with stage setup is allotted after finishing the parade, featuring Indo - American Children's talent with their distinguished performances inspires many to preserve and foster Indian culture in an international setting.
