International Womens Day

The Annual International Women's Day Celebration hosted by The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA NY-NJ-CT) in collaboration with the Consulate General of India-NY at the India House, New York City is a significant milestone in our commitment to Women's Empowerment. Since 1970, FIA has been dedicated to serving the Indian diaspora, and this event serves as a platform to honor and recognize corporate entrepreneurs and philanthropists who are breaking barriers and empowering the next generation of leaders.

At the heart of our celebration lies the recognition of visionary leaders - corporate entrepreneurs and philanthropists - who embody the spirit of change and resilience. Our esteemed alumni include some very distinguished and iconic recipients such as Radhikaraje Gaekwad, Queen of Vadodara, Allison Hauser, Executive Director of Girls on the Run NYC, Chandrika Tandon, chairperson of Tandon Capital Associates, and a member of the board of directors at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and the Berklee Presidential Advisory Council of the Berklee College of Music, Darley Newman, American Producer and Emmy Award Winning producer/show host, Bollywood Actress Nitu Chandra, the first all-Female Pilot Crew of Air India, Professor and Diplomat Taruna Chakravorty, Rashaana Shah, founder and Managing Director of Mulberry Films, among other distinguished awardees.

As the uniquely distinguished and accomplished icons for the women of today and for the women of our community, they exemplify what dedication, hard work, and persistence can accomplish.
