The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) hosted a heartwarming farewell ceremony for outgoing Community Affairs Counselor Mr. A.K. Vijayakrishnan on June 12th, 2024 at Akbar Restaurant in Edison, New Jersey.
Mr. Vijayakrishnan, along with his wife Ms. Jailaja Kuamri, was honored by prominent community leaders and organizations, including Visa Counselor Ms. Pragya Singh, FIA Chairman Mr. Ankur Vaidya, Chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media Dr. Sudhir Parikh, FIA President Dr. Avinash Gupta, FIA Board of Trustees Mr. Jayesh Patel, Mr. Alok Kumar, Mr. Srujal Parikh, and FIA Advisory Committee member Mr. Andy Bhatia.
FIA Chairman Mr. Ankur Vaidya praised Mr. Vijayakrishnan's exceptional dedication, noting that he not only bridged gaps but also fostered a strong sense of unity within the Indian American diaspora. Mr. Vijayakrishnan's remarkable five-year tenure was marked by exemplary service and unwavering commitment to the community.
Mr. Andy Bhatia highlighted Mr. Vijayakrishnan's distinguished 36-year career and his exceptional work during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the farewell event, Mr. Vijayakrishnan was felicitated with a plaque in recognition of his outstanding leadership and dedication, which enhanced the consulate's outreach and strengthened the community's bond.
In his farewell address, Mr. Vijayakrishnan expressed his gratitude to the community and thanked his support staff at the Consulate for their efforts.
