At the ‘The Pierre’ in New York, FIA dedicated Guinness World Records to PM Narendra Modi
In a ceremony held at the ‘The Pierre’, a Taj Hotel in New York, Federation of Indian Associations dedicated the 2 Guinness World Records, successfully achieved as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The prime minister has given the call to celebrate the Mahotsav globally as it marks the completion of 75 years of Indian Independence.
Present on the occasion were Minister of State for External Affairs of India V. Muraleedharan, Consul General of India in New York, Randhir Jaiswal, Deputy Consul General Dr. Varun Jeph, FIA President Kenny Desai, FIA Chairman A n k u r Vaidya, Chairman of Jaipur Foot and FIA convenor Prem Bhandari and Bihar Foundation Chairman Alok Kumar.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister Muraleedharan said that the Indian diaspora has done their motherland proud and lauded the whole team of FIA for keeping the Indian culture and heritage alive on The American soil.
Chairman Ankur Vaidya said that given the current times, this celebration highlights the need of the hour for our very diverse diaspora, which is to unite and reinforce the bond we share. He emphasized that importing media – hyped and politically motivated on-the-ground occurrences from the motherland here in our homeland will add no value to our community. On the contrary, it will equip forces working to cause a divide within the community. The community, our current and future generations, are here to stay. Let us give them a peaceful, harmonious, and progressive future where they can coexist with unity and diversity. That is the message FIA will continue to share and spread.
A camp, organised jointly by FIA and Jaipur Foot USA, in celebration of the historic occasion was jointly announced by Prem Bhandari and Kenny Desai, which will be held in January 2023.
The coordinator for the camp, Alok Kumar, said that the camp, which is being organized in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, will provide over 1,075 free-of-cost artificial limbs to the needy.
