The Third Parade Council Meeting was held on 12th June 2024 at Akbar Restaurant, Edison, New Jersey. The meeting was presided over by FIA President Dr. Avinash Gupta along with the Executive Committee- Vice President Saurin Parikh, Secretary Ms. Priti Patel, Executive Vice
President Ms. Smita Miki Patel, Treasurer Mr. Sanjeev Singh, Joint Treasurer Mr. Haresh Shah, and Joint Secretary Mr. Mahesh Dubal. Also present were the FIA's Board of Trustees Mr. Srujal Parikh and Mr. Alok Kumar. In attendance were the member organizations and members of the Indian Community.
FIA General Secretary Ms. Priti Patel opened the meeting and introduced the agenda to the audience.
Dr. Avinash Gupta gave updates on the flyers launched for the India Day parade and the Gala, which will be held at the Smithsonian National Museum for the American Indian in
New York City. He thanked the media for promoting the Parade and also thanked the community organizations for extending their wholehearted support. Speaking about the 42nd
Annual India Day Parade's theme, "Vasudeva Kutumbakam"—"World is one family"—which represents the diversity and unity that unites us all—he asked the assembly for help in publicizing the event and stated that they work hard to make the parade better than ever.
Vice President Saurin Parikh, giving updates about the logistics of the parade, also said that efforts are underway to make it the longest Parade yet with 40 floats, 10 marching bands, and 40 plus marching groups.
