Amidst the hustle and bustle of the India Day Parade, the excitement is palpable as people gear up to witness some of the most distinguished personalities from various communities, both within and beyond the diaspora.
This year's theme, Vasudeva Kutumbakam, embodies the spirit of unity and inclusivity. Recently, Dr. Avinash Gupta, President of FIA, had a productive meeting with some eminent dignitaries in Ranchi, including the Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhand Mr. C. P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren, and MLA & former Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sudesh Mahto.
During the meeting, he briefed them about the FIA's activities throughout the year and extended an invitation to them for the India Day Parade, which is scheduled for August 18, 2024. He also requested them to showcase a float from Jharkhand to promote tourism and industries.
Dr. Gupta also had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Randhir Jaiswal, the esteemed spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and Mr. Shatrughna Sinha, Director( Americas) at MEA, India. Mr. Jaiswal has always been a valued member of the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), having served as the Consul General of India in New York for many years. As such, he is highly regarded and respected by all those involved in the India Day Parade and it would be an honor to have him be a part of the event once again
