India has strongly condemned the defacing of BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Canada and has called for strict action against the perpetrators. The Indian mission has condemned the incident and called for a probe into the matter.
The Indian High Commission on Wednesday tweeted, “We strongly condemn the defacing of BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir Toronto with anti-India graffiti. Have requested Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take prompt action on perpetrators.
FIA Chairman Ankur Vaidya said that the recent spurt in such targeted vandalism in recent times, both in the US and Canada, suggests that anti-Indian forces are at work and the miscreants responsible for these acts should be brought to task. Exemplary punishments should be meted out to deter such acts in the future.
