The Federation of Indian Associations proudly hosted an exclusive meet and greet event featuring Dr. K.L. Rao IPS, the esteemed Director General of Police and Director-General of Prisons & Correctional Administration for the Government of Gujarat on Tuesday, 22nd May at Akbar Restaurant in New Jersey.
Dr. Rao holds the distinction of being the first IPS officer with a Ph.D. from PUSA IARI at the age of 24, left a mark on the Indian criminal justice system, through his innovative and humane approach towards rehabilitation and reformation.
His dedication to improving the lives of prisoners has not only brought about positive change within the prison system but has also earned him recognition and respect from his peers and the community at large who affectionately refer to him as "Bhisma Pitamaha" within the prison department
In an engaging session titled "IndiGlobal Talks" moderated by Sudheer Goutham, Founder & Editor-In-Chief of IndiGlobal Media Network, Dr. K.L. Rao delved into his pioneering initiatives, shared invaluable insights, and discussed the future of prison administration in India.
Apart from his remarkable work in the field, the DG of Police is also a published author, with his book 'Jail- History and Present' standing as a testament to his deep-seated passion for prison reforms.
