Enthusiasts gathered at Liberty State Park on Sunday morning for FIA’s International Yoga Day event there are few actions as exhilarating as stretching yourself and breathing in the high-on-freshness morning air by the Hudson as the majestic Lady Liberty watches over you, with the Manhattan skyline in the backdrop.
That was Sunday morning for those who had gathered at Liberty State Park for the group yoga event organized by FIA in partnership with the Consulate General of India-New York, to mark the seventh International Day of Yoga. This was FIA’s first public event in a year.
Consul General of India NY Randhir Jaiswal briefly attended the event, accompanied by DCG NY Shatrughan Sinha. The compere was the gorgeous Nina Davuluri, former Miss America, actress, public speaker and regular yoga practitioner. Soon enough, celebrity yoga instructor Thara Natalie took charge and began giving out yoga lessons to an eager class. Singer and song writer Jay Sean, the guest of honor, lifted the mood further.
Lauding the efforts of event chair Parveen Bansal and his team in putting together the event, FIA president Anil Bansal said, “I hope everyone here continues to find time to invest in their health and well-being.”
“Last year was tough for everyone. We hope this event can give a positive push to our attempts to get back to the pre-pandemic days,” said FIA chairman Ankur Vaidya.
