The 10th Annual SACO Gala Dinner, the State’s largest interfaith holiday celebration was held on Wednesday, December 15, at Royal Albert Palace.
This annual interfaith gala showcased the heritage and culture of the vibrant South Asian communities in the State. The South Asian Community Outreach (SACO) mission is to promote South Asians Americans in mainstream public affairs, civic discourse, community outreach, and party politics in USA. SACO is dedicated to advancing the health, empowerment, and solidarity of people of South Asian origin in the USA.
Kenny Desai, a leading philanthropist and distinguished entrepreneur in various aspects of construction, healthcare and finance was recognized for his contributions to the diverse South Asian American community as well as the main stream US community. Also honored was FIA’s Senior Advisor Padma Shri H.R. Shah, the CEO of TV Asia and an an iconic media entrepreneur for his five decades long service to the community. Mr. Shah addressed the crowd “We are 7 million South Asians in the USA and today we stand here united celebrating unity in diversity”
Sam Khan initiated the SACO organization in 2011 with an initiative to bring the South Asian communities here in NY NJ area together and work towards collective goals for the betterment of the community.
